This site is meant as a source of information for Maingate dealers. It may well be of interest to end users, too (and you are very welcome!), but is targeted primarily at professional buyers in the four sectors served by Maingate, namely Garden Centres, Gift Shops, Department Stores. COUNTY - Wheelbarrows for Suburb and Shire

At Maingate we claim to know a thing or two about wheelbarrows. We've been in the business for more than 20 years and have supplied over 1.5 million wheelbarrows to Britain's gardeners, riders, farmers and builders. When it comes to providing what both retailers and end users want, we reckon we have a fair idea.

The County range of garden barrows embodies our experience. We know, for instance, that over two thirds of garden barrows are chosen by women. We know that women abhor rust and prefer barrows that can be kept clean and new-looking for longer. We know that price is not their first concern, but that real in-use benefits are. We've proven that Polypropylene trays in vibrant colours are greatly preferred over ordinary steel ones painted in dull colours that soon fade in the sun and rust in the rain. (We introduced lasting "Colour" in wheelbarrows in 1997, and many retailers will remember how that rejuvenated the category and gave it an entirely new lease of life. )

Candle Carousels are derived from the best-selling Angel Chimes but instead of relying on heat rising from the four Christmas candles, the Carousel figures get their energy from a maxi tealight. This improves both runtime (nine hours approx against maximum two) and safety, to the extent that tealights are less prone to being knocked over by children or pets.
