An introduction to County Wheelbarrows

The County range of garden barrows embodies our experience. We know, for instance, that over two thirds of garden barrows are chosen by women. We know that women abhor rust and prefer barrows that can be kept clean and new-looking for longer. We know that price is not their first concern, but that real in-use benefits are. We've proven that Polypropylene trays in vibrant colours are greatly preferred over ordinary steel ones painted in dull colours that soon fade in the sun and rust in the rain. (We introduced lasting "Colour" in wheelbarrows in 1997, and many retailers will remember how that rejuvenated the category and gave it an entirely new lease of life.)

Wheelbarrows is a challenging category for many garden centres: Make the easy decision on Product Selection, and your display resembles those in the superstores. You will find yourself selling flimsy product for which none of your customers will ever thank you.
Even among Garden Centre Brands, the differentiation is clear. We've been in the business for over 20 years and know the shortcomings of other leading brands. In designing the Country range, we were able to tackle and overcome them all:

COUNTY FRAMES ARE GALVANISED to avoid visible scratching while in transit or on display, and to postpone and inhibit the onset of rusting.
COUNTY FRAMES ARE SEAM-WELDED rather than spot-welded, and the cross-braces are oversized to stiffen and strenghten the frame.
COUNTY TYRES FEATURE PNEUMATIC INNER TUBES to facilitate easy DIY repairs. We've all had enough of tubeless tyres that are virtually impossible to reinflate once they puncture or lose pressure.
SOLID STEEL SKIDS are welded onto the bottom of the legs of all County barrows. By taking the strain of thousands of hard landings on concrete, gravel, or wet soil, they greatly prolong the life of the steel tubing and hence the barrow as a whole.
SINGLE-WHEELED COUNTY BARROWS CONVERT in a few minutes to twin-wheeled barrows - a godsend for the petite, frail or elderly who prefer a barrow that takes the balancing out of the equation. (The DUO twin wheel kit can either be fitted at the point of sale, or retro-fitted years later.)
